Fauna down the long lens

From Melbourne Zoo, except the wild kookaburras, who we saw at the Children's Farm. Click on the pics for bigger versions, as with all images on these blogs.

Lesley says: You've got some cracking shots here and in your Picasa album. My favourites are the elephant's eye (not original but it's good to have your own version) and the emu head on. I also like the potential of the tail view of the zebra, but feel it would have been improved by either including the whole head (don't cut off his ears!) or by cropping even closer to produce an abtract pattern picture. The giraffe head is also very good, and the zebra/giraffe depth of field study is well seen and well executed. Well done! Thank you for sharing them with us. L xxx

I do find that the pictues I'm happiest with are often not at all original - for now I'm happy to be plagiarising (and hopefully learning from) other people's good ideas :) Regarding the zebra and his lovely ears, see the next post. I liked the depth of field zebra/giraffe one, sort of, although the composition feels unbalanced. But I'm glad you enjoyed them, anyway!
